We will be making a list of police killings and attempted police killings that were motivated by politics and/or racial hatred. This is only a preliminary list. There are many more. We decided to start with 2015 because that is when the “Black Lives Matter” movement took off.
If you know of other incidents that are not listed, please send us a message.
Micah Johnson opened fire on police officers at a Black Lives Matter rally in Dallas, Texas. Johnson killed five people and injured another eleven. All of the fatalities were police officers. It was the biggest loss of police lives in a single incident since 9/11. Police eventually used a bomb disposal robot to blow up Johnson with C-4. Johnson had stated that he wanted to kill white people in general, and white police officers in particular. Johnson was a former member of the New Black Panther Party [NBPP]. Johnson attended the Nation of Islam run Mohammed Mosque No. 48 in Dallas.

Gavin Long killed three police officers and wounded three others in Baton Rouge, LA. The shooter lived in Kansas City, MO but traveled to Baton Rouge because the national media was focused on BLM protests over the death of Alton Sterling. Long left a three-page manifesto behind saying he was getting revenge for “my people.” He also said “bad cops” and “good cops” were both to blame. Long was eventually shot and killed by police. He wrote a very short anti-police manifesto that he e-mailed to a small-time rapper in Ohio. Long stated that he had previously been a member of the Nation of Islam in youtube videos.

He also routinely posted messages hostile to white people and posts denouncing Donald Trump. In fact, he had posted racially charged messages earlier the same day. The media was quick to blame the shooting on “depression and alcoholism” and downplayed Brabham’s politics. Police found three women and a child inside Brabham’s house. One of these women had called the police on him.

He had also called for violence on Facebook and said he would kill “Confederate Nazis.”

Thirty-year-old active duty Air Force MP Sergeant Steven Carrillo is accused of murdering Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy Damon Gutzwiller and Federal security guard David Patrick Underwood. The murders took place at the beginning of the nationwide George Floyd/BLM riots. Carrillo identified with the left-libertarian “Boogaloo” movement.
